Steven Edrich joined 2OC with responsibility for developing the company’s medium term business development strategy and, subsequent to the approval of that strategy, with its implementation in the Middle East.
Steve’s career includes 17 years with BP in oil and gas exploration, initially as a geologist in the upstream business and subsequently in a variety of management and strategic planning roles. He left BP at the end of 1993 to work for the small independent UK oil company, British-Borneo Exploration, initially with responsibility for international new ventures. Steve then led the company’s successful entry into the deep water Gulf of Mexico, negotiating asset acquisitions with BP, Shell and Exxon, which lead to the development of two deep water fields using a novel application of proven technology provided by a strategic partner. Subsequently Steve led the company’s successful entry to the Brazil offshore. After the purchase of British-Borneo by ENI, Steve ran his own company in France until joining 2OC.
Much of Steve’s career has been spent in business development and new venture start-up in cross cultural settings. His senior corporate roles include Vice-President of Exploration and Business Development (Gulf of Mexico) and President of the Brazilian subsidiary.
